AADD, or something like that!

If I created an iPhone/Android app for a city, what do you want in it?

Okay, I’m researching the usefulness of a smartphone (iPhone, Android, etc.) application (web or app, either) for a local city.  What city service or information would you repeatedly use.

I’ll start with:  Parks & Recreation classes

Internet via Satellite..."Blazing fast.." Yeah, Right!

If there isn’t DSL, cable, or someone to leech off of, Satellite Internet may be your only option to get a full-time connection, but ‘...Blazing fast...”?  More like speeds of early DSL ... Remember, ‘...up to 1.5Mbps...’ if you’re lucky...more like 1/3rd that!

We have it only as a disaster preparedness worst case option.

San Jose Obon, Taiko Drummers

I shot this with my iPhone 3G (not the ‘s’), and I recorded it with ‘Recorder’ by Retronyms.  I was too close, approx. 3 meters, from the loud drummers!  It was great being there, but too loud for my audio recording.

Although the audio was trimmed and converted, comparing to the original, it is very, very similar...it’s just too loud!

Currrent quandry: PHP/MySQL user account bridging...could learn...could pay someone

I have this site, reunionhall.org.  It has a forum, phpbb.  The developer who rewrote my site and intergrated the forum still has a logged in (into RH) user to log into the forums, too.  Of course, you can check the box that always logs you in, but I really wanted one login for many integrations.  Since I’m a hack programmer (better than saying I’m an amateur programmer), I only know this one method (so far) of which when the logged-in user lands on the forum login page, a script updates the forum’s user tables so the login (mainly the password) is the same.  The user only needs to know one username and password, but the user can still change that password, but the script, the next time, will change it!

Oh, well...just some lingering thoughts.

I am rambling, and it’s time to sleep...I worked a little later this evening.

Cupertino celebrates re-opening of Blackberry Farm

The Mayor of Cupertino, Orrin Mahoney, addresses the hundreds of people who attended the re-opening of Cupertino’s Blackberry Farm.  The City of Cupertino dedicated Stevens Creek and Blackberry Farm restoration and re-opening of the Blackberry Farm recreation facilities. The celebrations featured "The Groove Kings", the masters of danceable, popular, groove oriented party music, two reconditioned swimming pools, park and trail tours.
