Robert’s View

AADD, or something like that!

Watching the raw footage of Sully's hometown celebration on my iPhone

I'm watching, and will attempt to continue watching, the ABC raw video footage of Danville's Sully who piloted the two-engine-disabled commercial airliner into the Hudson River in New York City.  My attempt to continue will be via walking and driving!  Now, onto my test.

Branded FM-transmitter iPhone Car Adapter...$100 more at the kiosk dealer!

Yes!  I initially looked at this model...$129 the ‘manager’ said, and he also said he is discounting for today.  The normal price is $179!

The FM Transmitter sounded like it did a better job than most, but I didn’t need this model.

Product Features:
• Listen to your iPod/iPhone music through your car stereo
• CarFM can tune to any FM frequency between 88.1 and 107.9 MHz
• Four "Quick Select" FM frequencies of 88.1, 94.1, 100.1, and 106.1 MHz
• CarFM charges your iPod/iPhone when plugged in
• For iPhone users, CarFM can serve as a hands-free talking device
• USB socket can charge a second device through USB
• Silicone padding on the arms helps to securely grip your iPod/iPhone
• Adjustable arms can even hold iPods/iPhones with not-so-bulky cases
• Flexible gooseneck design allows CarFM to fit most cars

Made-in-China-generic iPod/iphone Car Adapter

I bought it from a mall kiosk leased by V-Tex Global Inc (http://vtexglobal.com/navigation_bars/Locations.html). I started looking for one of these iPhone holders right after I downloaded MotionX's GPS software.

More on this, later.

[Update:  it is a tight fit into the lighter socket, and it works!]

Mozy.com's initial backup via Internet is very, very long!

Okay, I finially signed up with Mozy.com to manage my computer data after losing everything just over a year ago.  The initial backup, in my estimation, will take several weeks!

WARNING WILL ROBINSON, WARNING!

So, Friday I was shooting video of elementary kids on a field trip at a rock quarry.  Before we get out of the bus, one of those giant Tonka dump trucks parks.  When we get off the bus, a couple kids go up to the truck and touch its rear wheel hub!  I remembered when I touched the rear disc after driving it to the mechanic...<sizzle sound>.  Luckily, the trucks hub was only warm to the touch.
