AADD, or something like that!

All morning trying to update Final Cut Pro...

Just having a fun day finding a version just prior to the latest FCP
updater, but can't. Having IT make a call directly to Apple to help. (we
can't update to most recent due to a driver that requires v10.5.2!)

There! Now you know!

[Update: 8/1/08]

Word got back to me and my department that an Apple engineer (not on the FCP team) said that '...if Apple doesn't have it any longer on its website, it is not supported...'

This, basically, strands those who use Apple developer's customers, who, in turn, are Apple customers(!), with three (3) choices:  1) stay with a partially crippled/buggy/hindered situation until the vendor updates their code; 2) upgrade to Apple's latest OS version and risk buggy/possibly-corrupting-data/reduced efficiency (don't we jump to computers to aid in job execution, etc.?); and, 3) dump the Apple hardware and go back to Dell with better support (packages) and follows the corporate trend of using a 'business' platform in a 'business' environment...this latter is being considered one month after replacing our key PC-based Pinnacle/Avid NLE systems.

I considered suggesting that we release a press release that we jumped to the Apple platform after using PC-based NLEs for the past 13 years...our 2nd NLE which was just replaced by one of these Macs was running on an IBM ZPro!!!

UG!
